Okades Design Philosophy
Our philosophy at Okades is based on three guiding principles: passion, inspiration and collaboration.
Passion entails a fiery energy that cannot be extinguished. As a boy, I loved drawing in the sand and building sandcastles. In my teenage years, I began producing abstract art and comic books with caricatures of friends and famous people. At the same time, I fell in love with scientific drafting. I loved using my imagination to project myself into a space on an imaginary plane. Today I find my passion for architecture in the details, selecting just the right materials, angles, finishes. Like the sandcastles, I love being part of the creation of architecture.
Often, I find inspiration in dreams; I keep paper and pen bedside, getting up at any time I have an idea and capturing it in a sketch or drawing. I also find inspiration in nature and which drives my dedication to green designs and environmentally sensitive techniques. Finally, I am greatly influenced by Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, known as Le Corbusier, the Swiss-French architect, designer, painter, urban planner, writer, and one of the pioneers of what is now regarded as modern architecture. My designs are based on the seven principles of design: Unity, Balance, Hierarchy, Contrast, Emphasis, Scale and Repetition.
I believe that the best designs emerge from collaboration. After more than a decade in the profession, I’ve been fortunate to have worked with many well-known developers, architectural designers, contractors and real estate agents. Okades is a platform I created to collaborate with a global network of experts to create designs that inspire.
